REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9482 also known as “Anti-Rabies Act of 2007″

Rabies is viral disease that transmitted by animals, most commonly by a bite from an infected animal. It causes inflammation of the brain in warm-blooded animals. Rabies is almost fatal if not administered prior to the onset of severe symptoms. The rabies virus attacked the central nervous system, instantly causing disease in the brain and result death. Like many other illnesses the early symptoms of rabies in people are of, including fever, headache, and general weakness or discomfort. When the disease progresses, more specific symptoms appear and like the following insomnia, anxiety, confusion, slight or partial paralysis, excitation, hallucinations, agitation, hypersalivation increase in saliva, difficulty swallowing, and fear of water. Death usually occurs within days of the onset of these symptoms.

To control and eliminate of human and animal rabies the Senate and the House of Representatives of the Philippines enacted REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9482 also known as “Anti-Rabies Act of 2007”
